The birth and beginnings of Qwerty
Qwerty started its operations in 1988, when the technology market was just beginning to take shape in Poland. The company’s formation was a response to specific problems faced by users of the then-popular ZX Spectrum computers, whose contacts frequently failed.
Qwerty engineers set out to create more durable contacts, using polyester foil. The development of proprietary technology allowing the production of products more durable and functional than those available on the market quickly won the approval of customers, while financial success enabled the company to grow. This was the first step in creating a company that was to become a leader in keyboard technology.
Just three years after its official inception, Qwerty made a breakthrough in the industry with the introduction of the first foil keyboard. This innovative solution, custom-built for the RADWAG company, has opened new technological horizons and initiated long-term business partnerships. The foil keyboard not only raised the bar in terms of precision and durability, but also established the company as a key supplier of technology components.
From the very beginning, professional service was a priority. Manufacturing products solely on customer demand required the ability to satisfy customers’ needs, solve their problems and offer something more to set products apart from the competition. Like a “tailor sewing to measure,” Qwerty produces timeless products based on the latest trends.
Continuing the trend of innovation, our company has once again completely transformed the market by introducing diode installation on flexible printed circuits. This was a major step toward miniaturization and greater functionality of electronic products. Flexible electronics, which was replacing traditional soldered solutions, was a technological innovation, and Qwerty successfully implemented this solution, thus increasing the company’s competitiveness in the market.
Further years of development
The year 2002 and the move to a modern complex at 21 Siewna Street in Łódź marked a milestone in the company’s development. The new headquarters not only provided increased production space, but also enabled optimization of processes and improvement of internal communications. The consolidation of departments in one place has helped increase the efficiency and quality of the company’s products.
In turn, 2005 brought Qwerty global recognition with the introduction of its proprietary solvent digital printing technology on polyester foils. This was a unique solution that Qwerty was the first in the world to develop and implement. The technology makes it possible to print on a variety of materials, which has greatly expanded the company’s production capabilities and opened up new opportunities for customization and fine-tuning of products. The technology is still the company’s flagship product today, cementing its position as an innovation leader.
Over the years, Qwerty has constantly followed the latest trends in the world of technology, innovating in line with global developments. In 2013, the company began producing glass-based control panels using capacitive sensors. This was an important step toward modern touch interface solutions that dominate many industries. Modern glass panels with capacitive sensors were a response to the growing demand for high-tech control systems, whether in the industrial, medical, military or automotive sectors.
In 2021, Qwerty introduced another breakthrough technology – optical bonding of displays. This is the process of joining the screen to the glass in such a way as to eliminate the air pocket between them, which improves image quality and increases the durability of the display. Optical bonding technology has become one of the most essential elements of Qwerty’s product portfolio, especially in the context of glass panels and displays used in advanced control systems. With this innovation, the company has cemented its position as a leader in display technology, offering products with parameters considered exemplary. It should be noted that it is the only company in Poland offering this technology.
The culmination of a long road of innovation and improvement in production processes was the ISO 9001:2015 certification. In 2023, Qwerty underwent rigorous verification by the Quality Certification Centre of the Military University of Technology, which confirmed that the company meets the highest standards of quality management. This certification proves that Qwerty operates in accordance with industry best practices, and the company’s products are characterized by reliability and durability, which is particularly important in demanding industrial sectors.
In 2024, the company not only successfully passed the periodic verification audit in accordance with ISO9001 requirements, but also obtained AQAP 2110:2016 certification enabling direct cooperation with the military of NATO structures.

The history of QWERTY is inextricably linked to the development of printing technology, from the production of silver paste for ZX Spectrum contacts, through proprietary digital printing, to current research into Quantum Dots or Ceramic Digital Inks materials and technologies. This allows us to offer the services of our “Print Lab.” There we solve customer problems in the areas of materials science, technology as well as machine orientation. We help “tame” “disobedient” inks, rebuild machines or scale printing processes. The lab works with both small companies and global giants. For example, the Quantum Dots project could revolutionize the display and television set market and the photovoltaic panels built from perovskites.
